Urinary Incontinence & Vaginal Tightening

As the body ages, there is a continual decrease in collagen production throughout the body which can also affect structure and support of the vaginal and urinary wall. This extremely common change can lead to a decrease in vaginal tightness and result in urinary incontinence (bladder leaks) which can significantly affect a woman's quality of life.

Women need not suffer in silence with the results of the tissue changes in the vagina as Martin’s Rejuvenation Centre now offers a revolutionary new treatment to address Stress and Urinary Incontinence.

How Do I Know If I Am A Good Candidate For The Procedure?

  • In order to proceed with treatment a consultation with a clinic physician is required. We require a $100 deposit to book the consultation which can be applied towards the treatment itself. This will involve thorough history taking as well as a physical examination (including a gynecological examination).  Once patients have seen the doctor and have been approved to proceed with treatment, the treatment can be booked with one of our expert medical staff who will perform the procedure.

What To Expect During The Procedure:

  • The Fotona laser is used by one of our specialized medical staff in order to gently heat the gynecological tissue in a controlled and comfortable manner using a specialized probe. The vaginal cells respond by stimulating the production of new collagen over the course of about 3 weeks, then further collagen maturation occurs over the course of the following 6-8 months.  As a result, the vaginal mucosal lining is enhanced in structure and there is improvement in symptoms of stress urinary incontinence, leaking of urine and vaginal laxity.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

  • For best results, a series of 2 treatments should be completed and should be done approximately 1 month apart.

What To Expect After Treatment:

  • After each 1 hour treatment, mild swelling in the vaginal canal and spotting for 2-3 days is common and we encourage patients to abstain from intercourse for 1 week post treatment. For the first month following treatment we also encourage avoiding the use of tampons and doing heavy lifting.

Special Considerations Prior To Treatment:

  • Not everyone is a candidate for this treatment including those with infections or abnormalities of the urinary system. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are also not eligible for treatment.  Those who have uncontrolled diabetes, who are significantly obese, or who are heavy smokers are also not good candidates for treatment. In order to assess whether this treatment is right for you, a consultation with one of our medical staff can be arranged.
