BBL Broadband Light

A new approach to photorejuvenation!

BBL broadband light innovative technology sets new standards for the treatment of skin conditions associated with aging, active life-styles and sun damage. BBL broadband light energy allows your technician to treat fine lines, age & sun spots and several other skin blemishes. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin’s condition and your desired result.

What will BBL treatment do?

BBL broadband light technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent results in photo rejuvenation therapy. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, your technician will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. Your skin will be smoother, more vibrant and it will have a more youthful appearance as a result.

What conditions can be treated with BBL?

Fine lines, Age spots, Rosacea, Redness and flushing, Solar lentigines (freckles), Brown spots, Red spots (hemangiomas), Enlarged pores, Poikiloderma, Hyperpigmentation

How does BBL work?

The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. This will help restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colors and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. In addition the photo thermal energy will target and eliminate many of the fine vessels that caused redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.

What areas can be treated?

All skin can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of sun light. Popular treatments include face, neck, back of hands, chest and shoulders.

How many treatments will I need?

From 3-5 treatments spaced 1 month apart for the initial series of treatments and then 2-4 maintenance treatments a year to maintain the results.

How long will it take to recover?

This is a noninvasive and gentle procedure with virtually no down time. In most cases you will be able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities right away.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, and sun spots or uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated. Your technician will provide you with complete information about the post treatment care and results.

Will it be uncomfortable?

The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and safe. There should be minimal or no discomfort, however this varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of the treatment. There is no need for a topical anesthesia in most cases. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a rubber band snap or warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take anywhere from a few minutes if it’s just one spot, to an hour for a full photo facial treatment. Your technician will discuss all of your options with you.

What aftercare do I need?

It is important to follow your technician’s instructions. Do not exfoliate or rub at the pigmented spots, let them slough off naturally over the course of the next 2 weeks sometimes longer. Also if having had redness or tiny veins around nose treated you must avoid anything that would make you flushed for the next 48 hours. This includes alcohol, exercise, hot or cold temperatures, or certain medications if it’s safe for you to stop. You will be sensitive to ultra violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sun screen whenever you go outdoors.
